Curse 1: Anyone who has accepted Daksa as the most important personality and neglected Lord Siva because of envy is less intelligent and, because of visualizing in duality, will be bereft of transcendental knowledge.

Based on purport we can identify that those who will have high bodily attachment will be deprived of spiritual Knowledge and love of godhead.

Today, we can see that Celebrities who have external orientation of Daksha are popular with today’s people even the topmost Brahmins also. In south India we can see people including Brahmins have built temples for Cricket players and Film stars and they worship them as well.

In BG it is said, yam yam vapi smaran bhavam, tyajante ant kalevaram, whatever we meditate on entire life we remember at the time of death.

Curse 2: Pretentiously religious householder life, in which one is attracted to material happiness and thus also attracted to the superficial explanation of the Vedas, robs one of all intelligence and attaches one to fruitive activities as all in all.

People attached to fruits of their activities in householder life will be bereft of transcendental knowledge. Kunti Maharani also says,

janmaisvarya-sruta-sribhir edhamana-madah puman

naivarhaty abhidhatum vai tvam akincana-gocaram”

My Lord, Your Lordship can easily be approached, but only by those who are materially exhausted. One who is on the path of [material] progress, trying to improve himself with respectable parentage, great opulence, high education and bodily beauty, cannot approach You with sincere feeling.

This can be observed in Kali yuga bodies, who though materially rich but have zero spiritual orientation. We have observed that children from Brahminical families perform very good in material studies and they are fond of traveling to foreign countries.

Though they may very ritualistically perform festivals and poojas like Durga pooja, Karikeya Pooja etc. but the motivation is fear or material opulence only

Curse 3: Nandi cursed Daksha to have face of a goat.

We can derive people in general will become animalistic. We can observe that keeping a ‘Goatie’, a beard at chin like goat, has become a fashion today. People in general have become animalistic as they have no rules for hygiene and eating. They irrationally eat and live without discrimination. Toilets have found place within the premises of house which used be out of home always. Wearing animal skin has become a trend for common people.

Curse 4: Those who have become as dull as matter by cultivating materialistic education and intelligence are nesciently involved in fruitive activities. Such men have purposely insulted Lord Siva. May they continue in the cycle of repeated birth and death?

Those void of spiritual knowledge and preoccupied with materialistic education, which is nescience will continue in the cycle of birth and death. Scientists and scholars deny the existence of God and spent their entire life in researching something mundane, like God particle and still they don’t arrive on any conclusions. Though, they think they are doing something incredible but we can suffer in this life and definitely in other lives as well.

Curse 5: These brahmanas take to education, austerity and vows only for the purpose of maintaining the body. They shall be devoid of discrimination between what to eat and what not to eat. They will acquire money, begging from door to door, simply for the satisfaction of the body.

As per this curse the Brahmanas of Kaliyuga will not be interested in understanding God or spreading God consciousness but only in making use of their brahminical title. Thus, we observe that though so many caste brahmanas engage in different occupation but still differentiate others and many times they still accept donations without rendering any services. In Purport, SP writes, “Caitanya Mahaprabhu condemned this principle very strongly. During His conversation with Ramananda Raya, He said that regardless of whether a person is born in a brahmana family or sudra family, regardless of whether he is a householder or a sannyasi, if he knows the science of Krsna he must be a spiritual master. Caitanya Mahaprabhu had many so-called sudra disciples like Haridasa Thakura and Ramananda Raya. Even the Gosvamis, who were principal students of Lord Caitanya.” – SB 4.2.27
